This is going to sound counterintuitive but olive oil first. Vaseline is hydrophobic but olive oil helps break it down and then dawn dish soap or a clarifying shampoo

I had this issue after a surgery. Coconut oil!! Two greases counteract each other…sounds strange but it works.

Hairstylist here & a daughter who did the same thing. LOTS of dish soap & baking soda, mix together like a thick paste and suds up her hair really good with it. It may not spread well at first but keep working it through. May need back to back treatments. Don’t use any conditioner to her hair until all Vaseline is gone.

Someone put Vaseline in my hair 4 days before my wedding and nothing got it out. In pure panic, I coated my head in peanut butter for an hour… and it actually worked perfectly 😭 text book definition of a wedding miracle.

Try a makeup cleansing oil. Apply to dry hair and work through. I used to be a makeup artist and cleansing oil will take off even the toughest oil and wax based makeup…. Including Vaseline.

Anti dandruff shampoo specifically the blue bottle with orange lettering I had to use Vaseline in my cousins hair a few years ago to deal with a lice problem and is really helped I promise
