In a funny way, Domina kind of represents AI and its application to the art industry. Symmetra and Lifeweaver are extremely talented and skillful users of hardlight who express themselves through their creations, but Domina is extremely rudimentary and has no real input in what she puts out. The Panopticon is, funnily enough, asymmetric. Its not perfect. Its jagged, stretched, and sloppy, but it LOOKs nice enough at a surface to fool people into thinking its on par with something like Symmetra's barrier or Lifeweaver's tree. Plus, her being the heiress to Vishkar and Symmetra's boss adds more to the AI pit because she's essentially using it and getting more benefits from it than Symmetra, who is all natural and skill.

I love seeing how the characters' abilities reflect their personalities; personally, I feel that the fact that Reaper attacks from the support lanes and turns into Shadow to escape when he's in danger is another example. he is a coward

fun fact: the shape that symmetra creates in her highlight intro is a perfect 20 sided shape, whereas the one domina casts on people in her ultimate is not perfect, and has rough edges and corners.

if you slow down projectile speed you will see symetras fully charged secondary fire is a perfect 20 sided shape but dominias ultimate is all uneven and a poor replica of symetras

i saw someone speculate that the reason she floats and moves around in the way she does is because shes using the technology to hide the fact shes actually disabled which is such an interesting take on a character who is so concerned with public image

I think the other thing about her robot arms is that it shows her lack of sacrifice. Both Lifeweaver and Symetra have robot prosthetics that generate the hard light. they sacrificed their arms for their art.

I'm not really even a big Life Weaver fan but the voice line he has saying "a perfect world is a perfect prison" and coincidentally domina spawn voice line is "a perfect world is shaped by my hand" I think that connection between them is pretty cool imo whether it was intentional or not

as others have mentioned, Domina's hard light creations are sloppy when compared to Sym's but some specifics are, Sym's wall is built of hexagons which tile in 3 directions instead of squares which only tile in 2. Sym also largely uses platonic solids, which have historically been seen as the "perfect" 3D shapes, whereas Domina's creations mimic the larger forms of those solids while missing out on what the point actually is for those shapes. To Symmetra hard light is an art form, to Domina it's just a tool.

Then you clearly haven’t analyzed her lore correctly. Her whole story is about how despite her lack of creativity she worked impossibly hard to prepare for her position. People always doubted her and her immense drive to make Vishkar better, so she did all she could to be the best even if she lacked the creative vision of other architechs. Also her melee voice line is more about how dealing with people beneath her is pointless and not worth her time, not that she lacks the ability to deal with them or that she doesn’t want to work hard. And the people saying she’s overloading her gun she isn’t, it’s called a Photon Magnum which is a higher caliber, and therefore more powerful, laser.
