The three colors were used on everything from cars to interiors and in fashion, so much so that it’s become a stereotypical costume when we depict the 1950s. It is the colors of Rock and Roll which set the sound to the decade. The high contrast color combination set the stage for the full use of primaries that came later in the 60s.
