if you lean forward you are just shortening the ROM, just do your curls in an incline bench you will have more ROM

Even better results and less awkward try doing hammers on a preacher curl pad but facing the opposite way. (The flat side that’s perpendicular to the floor)

Hammer curls targets the brachioradialis which is basically part of your forearm, while performing a hammer curl there is no reason to go all the way down since the brachioradialis loses tension at that angle
