@ike.thetrainer: I didn’t realize how he hit his face until I saw the video. Which made me even more proud of him for getting back up and going right back to playing!! Tough little guy 👊🏾 #dadsoftiktok
He just taught him to regulate his emotions. There’s hope 🥲

As a psychologist, I can say that this is one of the healthiest ways to care for and raise your child. Congratulations.

Based off these comments, it’s no wonder the world is where it is today. Good job Ike, couldn’t see an issue with the way you handled this. (From a boy dad)

as a coach that teaches parkour, perfect response, most of them react on how you act, the younger they are the more they're to perceive of how dangerous something is even if it isn't that bad

He DID NOT invalidated his emotions, he guided him to self regulate and move on. Great parenting

This is gentle parenting. Not whatever other people think it is. Acknowledge he’s crying. Ask him where it hurts. Tell him he’s okay. Encourage him to shake it off. You’re not coddling him for something so small and you’re not dismissing that he got hurt. Reassuring him that you’re here, you hear him, but he’s okay. 💜 this builds trust and tough kids! 🥰
