@sotfogsotfog: I’ve seen this scenario play out TEWWWW often to not notice an underlying pattern that black women face from pretty much literally everyone else. Of course, if you are a black woman, I would love to hear your thoughts on this, given that I will always be an outsider to yall’s lived experiences. Definitely go and follow @Paris Mwendwa . Also, I’m pretty confident in the way I pronounced her last name, but I don’t recall ever seeing her pronounce it, so if it is wrong, please let me know so I don’t make that mistake again moving forward! The creator I said I’d tag is @Sasha , and I will repost her exact video I was referring to once I upload this so it is easy for yall to find.

Many creators do not monitor their comment section, it’s also not good for your mental health to read so much hate

the world holds black women to a uniquely high standard that they themselves don’t even hold themselves to. they say she’s terf for not advocating for trans women in her content, yet when you go to most of these creators profiles, not a SINGLE video of anti racism

the term TERF has lost all meaning at this point - if trans people don't feel included in feminist spaces then it's because of their own behaviour & they simply aren't feminist because of their own behaviour idc

How do ppl think moderating comments work??? U can filter certain terms, not ideas. Excluding trans related terms or buzzwords would lead to more hate for Paris for obvious reasons. The only other option is to go thru 1000s of comments may of which are filled with hate/misogyny 🙄🙄🙄

She has said terf things. And also liked terf things, and sucks up to TERFs. Publicly. Your informs incorrect. People should listen to trans women when we speak….

it quite literally is a creators responsibility to generally oversee the kinds of people gathering in the space they have created. Of course she can oversee or micromanage each and every comment, but if enough of one demographic feels comfortable gathering in your comments, it reflects directly on you. For example, if a bunch of maga people are comfortable in your comments, you're not going to come off even as a liberal if you haven't done anything preventative to them gathering there, as nobody positively gathers where they aren't feeling welcomed. She is not going through a witch hunt, there is genuine criticism out there for her having controversial takes, but like always there are people who will take it too far. I don't see her as a terf but I do think if terfs feel comfortable around you that's a big issue, and it is also problematic to call being associated with problematic people like that an attack on criticism instead of just clarifying from the get go.

you dont have to say you're a terf to be a terf 🤯🤯🤯 crazy ikr - its called trans EXCLUSIONARY radical feminism for a reason, trans people are not included so theres nothing *there* because its about whats NOT there, aka trans allyship

its intresting that Paris's critics are mostly yt trans women, yt gay men & yt NB folks. it feels like they are trying to "all feminism matters" when BW talk abt any other feminist issue that dosent center them.

I’m trying to understand (truly, so don’t fight me) how what Paris does is different from ww feminism? When ww have a politic that doesn’t specifically address the sufferings of poc women (ie not intersectional), they are called out for it. Now ppl are saying that Paris has a politic that doesn’t specifically address the sufferings of the trans community. How is that not the same thing? She even pulled the classic ww move and cried in response to criticism. The parallels are striking and I’m having a hard time seeing the difference. Are they wrong about her lack of solidarity with the trans community? If ww in their feminism have to defer to more marginalized groups, doesn’t the same standard apply to those women when it comes to groups even more marginalized than them?

Thank you for this. I think she was just being a bit naive. She's still quite young at 21. As a black cisgendered woman the number of times I am misgendered ona a daily basis is laughable. Luckily I genuinely dgaf due to my age (late 40s) and I'm old enough to expect it. In fact, sometimes I actively lean into it d for a laugh. I do sincerely feel for her. She is quite an intelligent young woman and I do not believe that she has ever meant any harm. Lesbian Lifts on the other hand...

I bet most of the anti-Paris people especially from America, don't even go outside and fight for trans rights and fight against the trans genocide (or even acknowledge the genocide and state violence against black and brown people here as well)

Far too many people say she doesn't talk about trans people, and don't see that she IS talking about black trans women. The people bullying Paris are actively negating the experiences of black trans women by not seeing them as women 😬

could not agree more. I feel so sad for Paris, she is so well spoken and makes a lot of good points and has been absolutely persecuted here for no obvious reasons. I feel she has enough to talk about (being a woman, being black, being a lesbian) with her own personal experience why does she need to speak for trans people too? and also since when did creators moderate their comments, that's tiktoks job and if it isn't being done properly complain to tiktok not to Paris lord.

It’s ridiculous. I’ve got 3k followers and struggle to manage the comments on my more viral posts. It’s literally impossible to get all of them so I’ve never understood why she’s being held responsible for her comments when she’s got so many followers.

What gets me as well is the amount of people who will post videos saying “please interact with this video I’m on the wrong side of TikTok”. Creators don’t control the comments.
