My grandparents would have loved this. I grew up playing sports in the 90s and they made it to what they could. The idea of them watching from home would have meant something to me. But here is what I keep coming back to. Stats overlays. Automatic highlights. Post-game film. We built the same infrastructure around youth athletes that we built for professionals. And these kids are watching their own clips and checking their own numbers. I am not sure they are ready for that weight. And that 83% number. More than 8 in 10 streamed games have viewers watching from outside the team’s home state. That is not just grandparents who cannot travel. That is a signal of how scattered the travel sports system has made American families. Streaming does not fix that. It helps us manage it. Those are different things. I love that grandma gets to watch. I love that military parents and divorced families and parents working impossible shifts get to feel connected to their kid’s game. That is genuinely good.
