@winnie.loves: My heart🥹🥹 Long story short, Dan had an infection in one of his molar, and after doing an x ray, they found more decays inbetween other molar. Which was pretty shocked to us because he brushes his teeth daily. Anyway the dentist say the main issue was needing to floss as his decay was mostly between his molar which is non visible. Also his teeth is more porous compared to others, hence more prone to decay. We don’t really do candies at home for everyone’s info 🙌🏻

You can be really healthy and still get decay. It’s actually the frequency of sugar intake that affects teeth, sugar turns into acid, we aim for 4 acid attacks a day. Example: better to eat a portion of strawberries in one seating that to make the portion last the entire day. It’s not how much it’s how many times.

I saw an Endodontist and they told me that some people more pre disposed to having cavities and tooth decays than others. You can do all the brushing and not eating sweets but there’s a percentage of people who will still have oral issues

My kumare's daughter also went through the same situation. She wasnt a sweets eater. She brushes her teeth daily. It is not the parentss fault

Some kids’ teeth are more prone to issues. My nephew are non identical twins, same brushing/eating habits. One has had no issues, the other has had multiple cavities.

I only started flossing my teeth at the age of 29 😭😭 and learning the importance of flossing them, at first it was a learning curve for me but the more i practice the easier it gets. The feeling after flossing is so good.

How did this happen? Was it because of sweets and no brushing or something else?

It’s not just sweets. I’ve been told goldfish crackers. They get stuck between teeth easier. Also genetics can have a factor.

My kids are teens now, both perfect teeth, zero decay at 16yo. when my kids were little..they brush their own teeth too but I will help to check after every brush bcoz they often miss the nook and cranny. Look into dental sealants too if the original molars are still intact by 11-12yo, this can prevent cavities up to 80%
