NTA- OP was looking out for her son and his future whether it included the girlfriend or not later on. Her son completing college might open up opportunities for them to have a better life than they would have had if he went with what he wanted to do after high school. I think the girlfriend or now fiancé was misinformed or was told something to make her believe the Mom tried to sabotage the relationship or perhaps we don't know any other details of things that may have happened between then and now.

As a mother of. 6 I tell/told my kids the same thing. Go to college love your life and if you’re both still compatable then it was meant to be. If not then you have gotten to live your life happily
