Why don’t you talk about Sri Lankans choosing Western culture more than Indian culture? Most of those people especially people from Colombo, act like wannabe whites. They mock people who can’t speak English and they even proudly say they can’t speak Sinhala! (I’m not talking about Sinhalese people who live abroad.) They follow Western fashion and speak English all the time, and that’s apparently not a problem but someone wearing Indian clothing is? What kind of logic is that?

it will wrong to say, srilankan especially Sinhalese culture is not under indosphere. Like the only thing that differentiate u and Tamils is Indo Aryan language that u speak and the Gangetic origin religion u follow. So obv, u should be proud of Srilankan culture but ur culture is under indosphere. Also India is not some homogeneous culture.

I feel like ur right yh, but I think Indian culture like wearing pottus and stuff also plays a small role in Sri Lankan culture. Cuz Sinhalese people also but pottus on babies to protect them from aeswaha (evil eye) and also when we go to katharagama devalya (a Sri lankan god that is huge in Sinhalese folk culture) we wear pottus.
