undercoating is alright if its already rusty dont bother it'll just speed up the rust by trapping the moisture in, for the most part though if you love the car dont bother its not going to prevent rust just slow it down, if its ur daily and you dont plan to get a winter car ya undercoat it and drive tf out of it

If done properly yes it does work and is good, although you’ll have to re do it in ~5 years to keep it nice. Don’t do it on the cheap or with a spray bottle or it’ll go on literally everything and trap moisture which will make it rust from the inside out

If you don’t wanna paint get lanolin oil and make sure to cover absolutely everything and do it once a year before winter
