@torvi02025: Addicted to swimming! 30°C in the UK might feel nice to us… but for dogs it can be deadly. If the pavement is too hot for your hand for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for their paws. Dogs can’t cool down like we do and heatstroke can happen fast, even on a short walk. Signs of heat exhaustion: • Excessive panting • Drooling • Red gums or tongue • Vomiting or diarrhoea • Weakness or wobbling • Collapse • Confusion or glazed eyes What to do: • Move them somewhere cool immediately • Offer small amounts of cool water • Pour cool water over paws, tummy and body • Use wet towels under them, not over them • Contact your vet ASAP Please skip the walk today or get our early morning or late evening for a slow sniff walk in the shade, a nice swim in the river/sea or provide enrichment indoors. #dogsafety #heatstroke #ukheatwave #dog #vetnurse @Willoughby @Hercules
