GES Approves Boarding Status for Daboya Community Day Senior High School By Savannah Online| July 21, 2026 Daboya Community Day Senior High School in the North Gonja District has officially been granted approval to operate as a Day/Boarding Senior High School, marking a significant milestone in the school's development. In a letter dated 13th July 2026 and signed by the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, the GES informed the Savannah Regional Director of Education that the school had been approved to run as a boarding institution in addition to its existing day status. The letter directed the Regional Director to make the necessary arrangements to post the required personnel to the school to support its new boarding status. It also instructed the Head of Daboya Community Day Senior High School to liaise with the Free SHS Secretariat through the Free SHS Coordinator to facilitate the implementation process. The Director-General congratulated the school on attaining its new status, describing it as an important step toward improving access to secondary education in the area. The approval is expected to ease accommodation challenges for students from distant communities, increase enrolment, and improve academic opportunities for young people across the North Gonja District and surrounding areas.
