I agree except for the collection one. I think some collections *are* overconsumption, like when people were buying like 15 stanley cups. Defeats the purpose of one imo

and if i said that the shift the term "overconsumption" from "companies are corporations are grossly mis-usinf and throwing out usable/edible recources at a destructive scale" to "too many figurines" was purposeful to shaft the blame onto the working class and cause in-fighting rather than focus on the real issue...

literally this. that’s one thing i hate about this app is people learn a new word and have to use it every 20 minutes, every comment they make will include that word even in places it makes zero sense, it’s so annoying bc people lose sight of the real meaning of stuff😭😭

I think if you buy a bunch of books and don’t read them multiple times it’s definitely overconsumption, because we have alternatives like libraries. It saves money too.

buying a bunch of crap you don't need and won't use is overconsumption. buying for the sake of buying is overconsumption. buying a lot of clothing that you wear or collecting something you're passionate about and that makes you happy isn't overconsumption

I’m the biggest overconsumption hater, but I always get confused when people bring up food that is actually eaten into the conversation

life if people understood that overconsumption isnt about a specific thing or the quantity of said things but the amount of waste someone makes (either by items not being used or expiring)

Idk In my mind if you keep it and use and treasure it it’s worth it the problem with overconsumption is waste so if ur not wasting it then it’s fine.

I collect holiday Barbies, and get them once a year. I also collect peach riot figures, which I have 2 and don't buy them that often. idk if that's overconsumption or not

Overconsumption is buying like 50 of the current trendy things and then letting them rot in your closet when they’re not popular anymore

Overconsumption is buying a new wardrobe because of a trend, a whole cart of self-care products that you'll use once and put in your cabinet, fifteen reusable water bottles because you wanted every design.

Hann ✈️ :
Overconsumption is when you buy multiple things, use them once or twice then throw them into a corner of your house and never use them again, only to buy another things and do the same every time you buy something new.
