Recently I was interacting with a guy who was definitely following some sort of communication formula. The problem was he asked SO MANY questions but barely answered mine when I tried to match the formula he was using. The vibe was that he was taken aback from not being prepared to talk about himself.

The style of asking a topicless or contextless “what’s excited you lately” in practice is not often better than no question at all if you are forcing someone else to pick the topic and figure out what is appropriate content on the spot. Which often leads to someone scrambling and answering and the person who asked saying that’s cool because they’ve practice the opener but not how to show or have genuine interest.

My opinion is that every kind of conversation is a form of manipulation. We want others to listen to us convincing them. We want others to hear our stories. We want to spend time because we are bored. we want others to like us. and still I think that Conversations Communications are the most important things between Humans Next To Touch
