This gap year is breaking me open in ways I never expected 😔 My sister looks at me and says I’m not serious about life. Yoh, if she could see me at 2am, staring at the ceiling, drowning in thoughts no one asks about 😭I’ve lost that feeling of belonging. I’m watching everyone move forward while I’m stuck at home, applying for anything I can, sending CVs, hoping for a “yes”. I’m tired. Mentally, emotionally, completely drained😔. Some days I feel broken, like I’m disappearing from myself 💔😭 But deep down, I’m still holding onto hope. I don’t know how yet, but I believe things will get better 🤍

The unplanned gap year is hitting hard, high school friends aren't rocking with me no more, parents and family comparing me to their kids that are privileged enough to go to University. Going through it mentally as a person who's been living with depression and anxiety most of my life but it will get better.

I worked part-time as a commis chef from Grade 10 in 2022 until Matric in 2024 because I knew my family couldn’t afford college. People mocked me, but I saved 5k monthly into Bitcoin, then 20k a month full-time in 2025! By Jan 2026, my bag hit 950k. I gave my family 200k and moved to France to live my dream as a yacht sous chef earning 35k Euros. I accomplished all this before even turning 20, so grateful my ambition paved the way! 🛥️👨🍳💎

you guys haven't seen anything yet 😭 I'm the class of 2022 btw, at some point i feel like everything is working out then boom i find my self depressed. But let's hope everything will work out 🙏 keep ISAIAH 60:v22 in mind and don't forget to pray even if you have lost hope.
