There is very very little nutrition in street food . I’ve become ill a few times because of the dirty oil they cook in .

Decades ago. I had just arrived. Sitting in my office at the Top of Thong lor. Reading the Post. The Dept of Health had sent 10. 10 man teams to 10 locations around Bkk.Each person was responsible for a particular food item or measurement. What they had found was eye opening and shaped my eating of street food until this day.

actually cooking yourself can cost more but as someone who's worked years in kitchen and seeing how its made on steerts/smaller(smaller citys) places just isn't appetising. Not saying food is bad or wrong, just better to be safe than sorry

Palm oil is used a lot. It’s inexpensive, but in my opinion not good for your health.

I’d prefer not to eat hot food that was put into a plastic bag, due to PFAS BPA and other plastic chemicals leeching into the food. Also, I’ve read that, on average, vegetables sold in Thailand tend to have high amounts of pesticide residues. But that is likely the same regardless of whether you cook it yourself or eat out. It does seem a lot easier to eat out or get delivery, and there are healthy options like Isaan BBQ, rice, and papaya salad, etc.

The videos he made aren't much different from what most Thais do when they cook at home, because it's cheaper. Nobody goes out to buy groceries all the time. But for people who work late, don't have time to cook, or tourists, street food is the perfect solution.

Can’t beat it! I’m always sick from these fancy restaurants I always eat street food I can see what they are putting in etc I can tell more or less of anything 🥰
