𝗔𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗔𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗭𝗮𝗮𝗸𝗲’𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 Former Speaker of Parliament and Bukedea Woman MP Anita Among has been appointed as a member of Parliament's Government Assurances Committee, which is chaired by Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake. The appointments were announced on Tuesday as Parliament constituted committees for the new legislative term. Reacting to the development, Zaake welcomed Among to the committee, saying it was a reminder that life comes full circle.He noted that although she had made his time in Parliament difficult while serving as Speaker, he hoped they would now work together professionally. What I learned today is that life comes full circle. It is ironic that the person who used to make my life difficult in Parliament when she was Speaker is now serving under me on my committee. However, I welcome her to work. I hope she will attend committee meetings. The Government Assurances Committee is not about fighting but helping our people get what has been promised to them, Zaake said. Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze said the development was a lesson in humility, noting that public leaders should always treat others with dignity regardless of the offices they hold. The Government Assurances Committee is responsible for overseeing government commitments and ensuring that promises made by the Executive are fulfilled
