@talk_to_thomasellis: I almost played Lucifer with an American accent… This clip is from a 2019 interview with Lip Roll, where I talked about the early days of figuring out who Lucifer Morningstar really was when I first got the script for the series. The script never actually specified an accent, so my first instinct was to try an American one. But very quickly, I realised it just didn’t feel right for the character. Lucifer needed something more articulate, theatrical, and unmistakably British. The version you all came to know was inspired by a strange but brilliant mix in my head — imagine if Oscar Wilde and Mick Jagger somehow had a love child.
