It’s been about 6 years of taking it seriously for publishing. I love the writing journey. I’ve grown so much. I hate the business side, it nearly ruined writing for me.

I just started querying my debut novel. Some days I struggle with imposter syndrome but I love my plot and characters so much 🥹 so anytime I'm down, I remember them and how they deserve to live in the world, not just my computer

I released the first edition of book 1 about 6 years ago. I have a very long term vision for my series and I knew it would be something very niche. For a while though I lost sight of the vision and started worrying too much about sales. I almost lost myself vs the love for the craft. I do this because I love to write. If anything the only thing I’m trying to do is get my life to a way where I can write more without having to invest time into other jobs. Overall it’s definitely what I expected. It’s the balancing game, and I know most people won’t even recognize my vision until it’s close to complete. The timeline is probably the most different from what I expected

For me, it’s been wonderful, challenging, emotional, and honestly unexpected.🥹 My debut came out less than 9 months ago, and today I just did a book signing at a brand new Barnes & Noble location. The fact that I decided to write my first novel only a year and a half ago…and now it’s sitting on shelves in seven bookstores across Ohio and Michigan, including at a Barnes & Noble, is so surreal to me.😭 I’ll forever be proud of myself for going for it and not giving up, even during the moments I wanted to. Writing isn’t always easy, and there are definitely days where the motivation or energy isn’t there, but it’s something I genuinely love and can’t imagine walking away from. I truly believe dreams are worth pursuing no matter how scary or impossible they may seem at first.🥰📖✨

I am loving the bookish and writing community. I have met some friends for life. I wasn’t expecting so much support. To me, this is the most rewarding part of the experience. 🩷

Not what I thought it was going to be. Once published I thought I'd feel different, sadly I dont, I feel like I need to do better. like what I have done just isn't enough. Of course I am going the route of self publishing on not the dream of being picked by a publishing house, But I am still going to keep going.

it's definitely a marathon, not a sprint. 15 years into it 16 books out there's no way I'll ever going to make back what I put into it but I love writing so much I can't seem to stop.

Its not what I expected after becoming self published. I was young and dumb and thought KDP would promo for me at least a little (I was 20/21) then I gave up for a little while after I had kids because I was overwhelmed and lost. in the last 3 years Ive been learning how to market and what all it means to be an indie author all over again after my 1 book youthful ignorance flop. I look forward to releasing more books just because I love to write

I've been writing since I was twelve and published a few poems when I was young. After losing my daughter in 2018. I decided to publish my work. Today, I'm writing to tell my stories. . . the ones that have aided in my healing. I'm blessed because they've begun helping other navigating life's pitfalls heal.

I’ve written most of my life but finally decided to start publishing. It’s not at all what I thought it would be. The community is fantastic. I’ve had a wonderful experience connecting with others and just waiting to find the readers for my book. The ride has been fun.

It’s been a roller coaster, but I feel accomplished. Managing ADHD and dyslexia means writing often takes me longer than expected, but seeing my story become an actual book has made every challenge worth it.

Not new at writing but the publishing really has me drained. Just a lot to learn. No time to write and that really has me questioning myself. Maybe it's not for me.

I’m loving it! There are so many positives. I’d say the only downside at all is the perpetual feeling that I’m procrastinating if I’m not actively writing, but the overall experience of being an author is amazing

I mean… I have barely dipped my toes in. I think I need to read more physical books to get the vibe of my favorite authors. I’ve been on audiobooks for 5+ years now and it has babied me. The ultimate plan is to release a short story collection within the horror genre. The last time I creatively wrote was for a DnD character backstory and I cried writing it 😅 which was excellent motivation. Idk dawg, both my kids will finally be in school this fall so I have high hopes for my creative writing passion to take flight.
