I’ve had my catheter for 4 years now. Controversial but I’ve never ever strapped the actual catheter to my leg, I tried it and found it pulled more and was uncomfortable so haven’t done it since. I also found that having a flip flow valve on made it a lot easier when swapping from day to night bag.

I get this as soon as I connect night bag, its the pressure. So I connect the leg bag to the night bag the flipping valve of leg bag on off and moving night bag above bladder then below and it drains 😊

Yeah mine sits in the nightbag tube, always has done I just assumed it was normal and as the pressure of more urine came into the tube it would drain, always fine for me.

Mine is directly on the night bag just because it’s gravity led and you get a better drain. I used to be told to to put my night bag onto my leg bag and found it didn’t drain properly

you shouldnt keep breaking the seal as such between catheter and leg/thigh bag, as the risk of infection increases. I've had a suprapubic catheter for 23yrs ,only ever connected night bag direct to thigh bag, always drains fine, and once draining will stay locked in the tube until its disconnected. manfred sauer thigh bags are a life changer , or were for me at least.

You should be completely fine with just having a night bag connected without the leg bag. Those tubes can hold a good 100/200ml just drink plenty and it will fill promise ❤️‍🩹 I sometimes just have a night bag on and it’s fine. How is it now?

I use little secure device strips I get from amazon as I found they work better for me than stat locks and straps, also now as I secure mine on to my hip basically due tot he way its placed .when I use leg bags I actually put the straps through the leg bags (the little gaps)as it was more comfortable .i think its really till and error to find what works best for you and most comfortable hun ! hope youre ok xx💜

Make sure there’s a bit in your day bag before connecting the night bag, it stays in the tube for so long because there’s no air to push it through which is why it drains straight from the tube when you unplug it. For comfort reasons I would strap it to your leg if you’re going to be moving about. I use a stat lock and find it lots more comfortable than leg straps. They look like this and you clip the catheter into the little clip bit. Feel free to message any thing else you want to ask. I’ve had my SPC for 6 years now
