@amyhowells82: People often assume that if a puppy or dog ends up in a shelter, there must be something wrong with them. When actually most of the time, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The shelter is never a true reflection of who a dog really is or how well they could thrive in a loving home. More often than not, they’re there because they were let down by humans, not because they failed. These dogs deserve patience, love, and the chance to feel safe again. They are not broken because they’re in a shelter. Shelter dogs love with their whole hearts, it is the type of love and appreciation you will never get quite the same anywhere else. They appreciate the smallest acts of kindness because many of them haven’t always known them.
