I went through this too. We can’t force them to get sober, they have to want. Jail is the best place for him. He’s not using and your peace is back. Don’t let him talk you into getting him out. I feel your pain. I don’t wish this on no one. I’m praying for you and your family.

Ur doing the right thing (and I say that as an addict that’s 13 years sober). My daddy nearly loved me to death-like literally. Keep those boundaries. My daddy saying no to me saved my life ❤️

A good friend of mine said that prison was the best thing to help him get away from his addiction. He isn’t out yet but i hope he stays sober once he is out. Tough love looks different for everyone. You are doing great❤️

Proud of you, as an addict I can say he means what he is saying but that doesn’t always mean we will follow through once we’re out of the bad situation from my experience. Keep doing what’s best for you and your kids, I can tell you’re a great mom!🖤🖤🖤

Coming from a recovering addict, you’re doing the right thing. Taking accountability and living the consequences without being bailed out of the situation could be his rock bottom. After sitting in jail and realized I needed and wanted the change for myself, I asked my attorney if I could be released to rehab. I’m over 5 years sober now bc if it 💜

You’re doing the right thing. I’m recovering myself and I always said the same thing and it was never true. I hit out n did the same thing. I’ve been sober now almost 8 years and I thank god everyday I was able to be saved!!

Meet my partner at 17 we both struggled with addiction him a lil more so we have 2 kids he went to jail I got clean he got clean in jail came out stayed clean we got back together been living together clean for just over 2 years now there’s always hope , praying for you ❤️

Loving someone in active addiction is the hardest thing in the world. The worry the fear the constant anxiety.. I’m grateful when we had our first i told my husband I’d leave if he didn’t get well and he’s 8 years sober this summer but i know in one decision we could lose everything

I'm so sorry ur going through this. I just passed 11 yrs clean and sober. You are doing the right thing by not saving him. Let him sit in jail and think. Praying for you and your children 🙏 ❤️Addiction is such a monster and it effects everyone 🙏 ❤️💙 but please know that this man loves you and your children. If you’re always there to save him, he won’t learn he has to save himself. Maybe he will be offered some help in jail. Maybe not. He’s sober now and has to sit w the uncomfortable feelings he’s been masking w rugs. Hopefully he will choose himself so then he can choose his family. I read somewhere that the first several months of sobriety, you have to put yourself first. Sobriety above all else because without it, you have nothing. If you don’t understand addiction, it might seem selfish. So you have to put your sobriety over being a spouse, parent. being sober needs to become a habit.. He needs to learn new coping skills. You are doing all the right things! I hope you have people irl to talk to. It’s so important. My husband started using very young. He Had 17 years and relapsed. He currently has 6 years sober. I have guardianship of his sister’s children. She’s still off and running. The oldest boy is 6 she dropped him off at 1 he’s not had contact w her since. Cps removed her 2nd son, we took him as well. The oldest boy is in therapy. Really proud of him. He’s learning boundaries and how important they are. Learning boundaries when you love people with addiction is so so important. I rambled. I am proud of YOU! Such a strong lady and mom.

Girl I feel you I have two sons that are addicted and they both are serving a long prison sentence it’s hard because you love them but you will never win over the addiction until they are ready to choose sobriety prayers for you and your kids
