on the thing with the ending to the episode with Butters's grandma, I agree that you're right that she likely already came to terms with that. But, I like to think the intent was Butters basically saying I am not going to let you have power over me anymore. (granted I only saw the episode once, likely wasn't sober, it was a few years ago, and my memory isn't the best.)
