@jessicagresty: Armpit fat. Let’s talk about it. The tail of breast tissue that extends toward the armpit is called the Axillary Tail of Spence. It’s a normal extension of breast tissue that runs into the armpit area. We often incorrectly refer to this fullness as “armpit fat”. This area can contain: * Breast tissue * Subcutaneous fat * Lymph nodes * Skin and connective tissue In many women hormonal influences can make the axillary tail appear more prominent. During weight gain, hormonal fluctuations, pregnancy, or certain phases of the menstrual cycle, the area may become fuller or more noticeable. Even lean individuals can retain visible tissue there because it is partly structural breast tissue rather than just body fat. From a training and physique perspective: * Fat loss can reduce overall fullness in the area * Improved upper body muscle development (pecs, lats, delts) can change the visual contour around the armpit and chest * Some residual fullness may remain due to genetics and the amount of breast tissue present
