Fukuoka is my favourite city in Japan, lived there for a while in the 2000s. It's a shame it's changing because it had a whole personality of its own then being just another corporate city will destroy it.

Fukuoka is a lovely city, lived there for a year. The beach in Momochihama is beautiful. Ohori-park next to Fukuoka Castle ruins grounds is great for jogging. Tenjin and Hakata are great urban neighborhoods.
