Here’s the difference between breaking bad and the boys last season breaking bad had a very consistent great season. The boys started all strong with episode one, but every episode progressively got worse and focused on things that didn’t matter to the point where everything that has been built up never ended up being resolved or got very unsatisfying endings. It also doesn’t help that it felt more like a rising prequel series than an actual final season. It also doesn’t help that they were basically promoting false advertisement between Homelander and Butcher. Going scorch earth promoting that there will be destruction at least in there city and we never got that. So it’s basically a valid rating when you look at everything presented.

It’s because multi season tv shows are by nature an extremely difficult form of media to do correctly. If you were to look at IMDbs top series you would see most are mini series for a reason. Tv shows that go on for almost a decade lose writers and the overall vision changes. Studios push for more episodes and seasons when in reality most shows don’t need that many.

Breaking bads finale was calculated and prepped for from the beginning and it wrapped everything up perfectly. The boys finale itself was fine but the season dragged and stalled to get there, they forwent proper pacing and good character moments for setting up spinoffs. The cracks in the writing started in s4 but overall it’s pretty incomparable to breaking bad

Nobody goes into the finale of their favorite show and want to hate on it. The reason why they hate on these series finales it’s because everything that they were building up in the prior seasons, didn’t really connect in almost any way to the last season. So that’s why they hate these shows finales. Because they don’t fulfill what they were building up.
