And.... that £9.90 isn't the cost of the drugs. It's a dispensing fee that is paid back to the pharmacy. The cost of the actual drugs is absorbed by the NHS. I'm so glad you got what you needed. Tonsillitis is no joke. Enjoy the UK hunnybun 🥰

This is not a dig at England at all but here in Wales it would have been free we don’t get a prescription charge here which still amazes me. Not sure if it’s the same for visitors though

In Europe things are a lot better than in the US. Here in Finland you have to pay 70€ worth of meds first and then you get the meds cheaper after that.
