my parents separated when I was 3 months.... of gestation, I never knew my parents as a couple because they broke up before I was born when I want a new book and my mom says no cause there's no money, I call my dad, that's the only "one parent said yes the other said no" situation I have lived

When I was like 5 I asked my dads wife when she was sleeping on the couch to open a care bear colouring book where you just have a pen thingy and put water on it and it colours the pages, she told me to wait till lunch, it was 7 am and I was just sitting in the living room doing nothing. My little sister was in the bedroom still waking up, I remember thinking “she isn’t my mom” ran to my dad and he said yes, started an argument between them..

My parents actually have a rule where you can’t cross the other. If you ask one and they have to talk amongst themselves you have to wait to get an answer. But if one says no, it’s a no. They’re a unit
