We stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Edinburgh. It’s like a 2 minute walk to the Royal Mile. AC, beautiful rooms and excellent breakfast. If you’re going to splurge a little extra for a hotel, this is the one to do it on. Grassmarket hotels are way over priced, noisy at night and too busy.

I'm heading to Edinburgh in a few weeks and only have 2.5 days there before heading to Stirling. Would you recommend the palace of holyroodhouse? I had planned to check out the botanical garden and stockbridge but could change if its worth it.
