Translation: If you ship Destiel, that’s okay. If you don’t ship Destiel, that’s okay. Not seeing Dean and Castiel’s relationship the same as someone else is also okay. I have friends who do not ship Destiel and not once have I ever held it against them. That’s how they’ve interpreted Dean and Castiel’s relationship and I’m not going to force them to see it my way. At the end of the day, it’s all fiction. The ships, the canons, the theories? Fiction.

Jensen played Dean for fifteen years, he's the ONLY authority on who he was as a character. And I'm sorry but Misha has been queer baiting his fans for years now; not the show. And Jensen has only ever been vague with his answers in the past because he's trying to be diplomatic. I'm glad we got an outright 'NO!' from him at last. He's a very patient man.

It has literally been stated by dean in the show that dean sees castiel as a brother. He literally said that in season 7 or 8 trying to talk to castiel and said he is like a brother to him. Jensen is right, it is fan fiction and people who are saying destiel is canon has missed the point. Just because cas tells him he loves dean, dean NEVER said it back. I am not a hater of destiel, but so many people have tried to force the idea of it onto me. I am not a fan nor a hater, but people pushing beliefs onto actors and other people are the reason why people leave fandoms and it becomes toxic. I think some fans forget that Jensen and Jared are real people, not fictional characters for fans to project onto. Shipping and theories are fine, but invasive questions, sexual comments, and obsessive behavior cross the line. They’ve always been incredibly kind and respectful to fans, so it’s sad seeing them put in uncomfortable situations at conventions. No one owes the internet access to their private life. Fandom should be about appreciation and respect, not entitlement.

Why do we care so much? It would be like any other relationship... Castiel was neither male nor female... his vessels were both female and male. Dean had no problem getting involved with Anna and never attempted a relationship with Castiel. He loved Castiel, like he loved Sam and Charlie.
