@ayahsvoice: I was forced to wear hijab and abaya from 11 years old, so I never had the chance to try new looks or find my style. Clothes is just one part of it. I never got to discover myself in any sense. I wasn’t allowed out, I wasn’t allowed to have hobbies, I wasn’t allowed to see friends outside of school. I was coerced into marriage at the age of 16 to a man almost double my age, just incase I did anything to “ruin my reputation”. My whole life was spent fearing judgement, from God and from people. Religious shame controlled everything. But fuck that finally, I don’t fear God the way men want me to anymore. I love God. And I definitely don’t fear peoples judgement. I’m free.
