I was a stay at home dad for a couple months in between jobs and it was the easiest life ever, everything was done before 11am the rest was naps and fruit bites.

preferences. not standards. that makes it seem like the house has to perfectly match your idea of decoration and clean and should be everyone's standard. lol it's your preference. and I'm happy with barren walls and cheap furniture. I'm not addicted to stuff or how that stuff looks.

My wife and I discussed this. Her “chores” are more often but smaller. My “chores” are less frequent but larger. Pressure wash the patio and reseal the pergola, once a year but a full weekend’s worth of work.

I use the same cup plate fork and knife. I rinse my coffee cup daily and wash it like once a week or 2.

I explained to my wife that I don’t care if the counters are sprayed and cleaned each night or if the laundry room baskets have been emptied. It literally would not affect my day in the slightest if those things didn’t happen….but I do all the tidying tasks at night because they are important TO HER…
