What’s funny is how he is never mentioned or acknowledged by anyone else. Not even the Ember island players. We only see him again in the legend of Korra and Aangs kids don’t seem to know who he is

Ended up barely in the margins of history, only evidence he existed I imagine is in the memory of people as old as Zuko and Katara and maybe a dusty scroll or two for birth and military records assuming those are kept.

he may have been useless and had a hot-temper, but he did have a very important lesson to teach Aang. He taught Aang, that Firebending without control will be disastrous, with his own actions.

i think he was imprtant to the story , to show how much zuko is good human compared to him , even when zuko was the villian when i rewatch water book now , and i saw how mad is zhao , when zuko was sane through all the suffering in the north pole . i realized how good was zuko from the start
