@theuncover.ai: Marc Andreessen joked on Joe Rogan’s podcast that AI has not replaced programmers, it has turned them into vampires. His point was that developers now operate alongside fleets of AI coding agents that can keep producing work continuously. The pressure comes from leverage. When a single engineer can direct dozens of agents in parallel, the amount of possible output expands dramatically, making downtime feel more expensive. Behind the joke is a real shift in software work. Coding is moving from writing every line manually toward supervising, reviewing, and orchestrating AI systems at scale. 👉 Follow @uncover.ai to stay updated with the latest AI news — Media: PowerfulJRE

all these 20x productive engineers and yet no increase in new apps, features, platforms, games, etc 🤔. you'd think we'd be overwhelmed with new stuff and yet change seems less rapid than it was in the 00's/10's 🤷🏻♀️

nope. it’s more that vibe coding is addicting because you’re literally gambling by prompting and just hoping that the next prompt will provide an amazing result and fix all the bugs and then it breaks everything and you try again and again

Lines of code per hour is absolutely not a good metric for «being more productive»

20x more code per hour and 100x the review time.

Well I work with developers in an enterprise business and if this is true there is no evidence of it whatsoever. Release cadence the same, fuck ups and rollbacks the same. I think this x20 maybe possible if you are building from scratch, but working with old systems ingrained with real world, with real world impacts… x1 speed🤣

The maintenance of these applications will be beyond horrible and create a technical debt worse than we have now. This is not progress
