The idea of Batman being seen as some supernatural cryptid who particularly protects children at night is one of my favorite ideas for the character. The idea of a scared child growing up and taking hold of that fear as a form of self protection and the only ones seeing him for who he really is as a kind soul being other scared children.

Most superheroes powers are somewhat simple to understand for the public… but Batman? People fear what they don’t know and nobody knows wtf Batman even is in the beginning of his career or if he’s real.
