My daughter is Adrianna - 2 n’s - like Anna. Not Ana like the Frozen character. And everyone says it like the Frozen character Ana not the way we intentionally named her after my husbands aunt Anne. I can specifically tell them her name and they’ll say Hi Adria-ON-a. Wrong. 😭

I have a Juliana.. a lot of people try to pronounce it with an Anna at the end instead of ana like the skit. I also have an Alessia… and we get Alicia, Ah-lease-e-ah and Alyssa instead of what it actually is ah-less-E-ah (like the singer)

I named my daughter DorothyAnn after my grandma Dorothy. And we call her Dot, as my grandma went by Dot. I did not want her to be called Dorothy so I intentionally did not hyphenate the Ann. My sister and my mother continually say “everyone is going to call her Dorothy, you should have done Ann as her middle name.” Quite literally no. I wanted DorothyAnn NOT Dorothy, and we call her Dot. So why would people just call her Dorothy??? Do people with the name JoAnn, MaryAnn, or LeighAnn just get call by the first half of their name? Nope. If people don’t want to say DorothyAnn they can say Dot.

We’re naming our daughter a name that ends in -ana. I say it one way, my husband says it another. It bothered me at first but then I realized she’s gonna deal with it her whole life, maybe this way it’ll be easier for her.
