I’m an Australian Leah (nickname tillie) who has a similar bracelet I was given when we must have been… 9? It’s hard to remember with all the homes. I’ve always searched for her and never found. But I hope you do x

For anyone curious!! Her name was Leah, I remember her being around my age (within a year or two atleast) Im not 100% confident what the bracelet is made of and there are no visible stamps on the inside (its also very worn inside the band so there may have been at some point)

One of the hardest parts of foster care (for me) was forming intense bonds with other kids and then never seeing or hearing from them again.

my nana had friend when she was little. the girl had to leave and left my nana a single beaded earring (her ears weren't pierced) and she still had it 50 years later when i found it in her jewlery box. "i forgot her name but never her smile" I think about their friendship all the time

this is Sara's bracelet. we swapped bracelets in 2010. foster care was rough but meeting her brought me comfort through all of the pain I endured. I hope she is okay and knows I still think about her. I hope this post reaches Leah ♥️

I’ll never forget a teen making me one of those rubber bracelets when we were stuck in the CPS office waiting to go to a foster home. I was 10 and still think about her all the time. She made a scary situation comfortable and friendly. I hope she found her forever home and family

Pro tip. H can actually call and get all ur records released to you. Foster parents are required to write weekly updates on children and documentation is always kept for which kids where residing in the home while you where there. There’s always paper trail! Best of luck 🫶

I went into foster care at twelve, my neighbor brought a shirt of hers to school she knew I really liked. I was out of that county the next week. I aged out of care, started my own family, and now at 31 that shirt still lives in my dresser. The only thing I’ve managed to keep the whole way through. I have rings given to me by two different foster sisters, one of whom passed away some years ago. The significance of the most mundane objects is something a foster kid understands like no other.
