Fani-Kayode: “God Comes Before Politics” as He Accuses El-Rufai of Persecuting Kaduna Christians Femi Fani-Kayode has accused former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai of persecuting Christians and marginalising Christian communities during his eight-year tenure, alleging that Christians were killed, some communities were denied development and allocations, and Christian leaders were insulted. These are Fani-Kayode’s allegations, not established court findings. Fani-Kayode also alleged that El-Rufai’s former deputy, Barnabas Bala Bantex, was insulted over his Christian faith during cabinet meetings. He said current Governor Uba Sani had previously spoken to him about issues involving both Christian and Muslim communities under the former administration. Describing El-Rufai as a “monster,” Fani-Kayode said he believed the former governor sought to undermine Christians and their faith. He praised Uba Sani as fair-minded and said his emergence as governor provided an opportunity to address what he described as past injustices. Explaining why he continues to speak about the issue despite political differences, Fani-Kayode said: “There’s something that comes before politics, comes before anything, and that is God, because it is God that gives you everything else.” Fani-Kayode has made similar claims previously. In 2025, he said Uba Sani’s administration was helping to address what he described as discrimination against Christians in Kaduna. 👉 Follow Daily Times Nigeria for more updates. #DailyTimesNigeria #FaniKayode #ElRufai #Kaduna #trendingnow
