No it isn't. Cheating is violating boundaries your partner has set with things or other people. Anything can be cheating if your partner has made it extremely clear they didn't like it and you violate it.

i’d argue having old photos and having communication with an ex can be situational, but it also depends on how your partner feels, it’s more about making sure both sides feel secure and follow boundaries

i lowk dont think keeping photos with someone u used to be with is cheating at all. if those were memories that were happy and you enjoyed it back then, ofc i'd want to keep it and look back at those days. that doesn't mean i'm still in love with them at all. also catching up and having small talk with ur ex is fine, it's a kind thing to do. i think people are a little too insecure these days..
