@offenceregister: DAVID BLACKWOOD COMBE DOWN SHPO BREACH JAILED A registered sex offender who targeted young girls in public and explicitly breached his court restrictions has been jailed. 58-year-old David Blackwood, of Trinity Road, Combe Down, Bath, carried out a predatory series of public violations that showed a total disregard for child safety. The Offences and Trial Details Blackwood admitted to his actions at Bristol Magistrates’ Court, pleading guilty to engaging in sexual communication with two girls under the age of sixteen. The court heard how he completely ignored the law by failing to comply with his registration requirements and breaching an active Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Sentences and Court Orders The Presiding Magistrate handed Blackwood a twelve-month prison sentence, noting that immediate incarceration was the only suitable option to address the risk he posed. Along with jail time, he was ordered to pay court financial penalties, and his lifelong monitoring conditions remain under intense multi-agency scrutiny. Investigation and Impact An immediate response by Avon and Somerset Police was required to protect the community after Blackwood approached the children near Bath and asked them a sexually explicit question. The investigation established that Blackwood’s history of sexual offending meant he was fully aware that approaching minors was strictly illegal.
