@forsaken_history: In Interstellar, time itself becomes part of the soundtrack. During the Miller’s Planet sequence, composer Hans Zimmer added a slow, repeating ticking sound into the track “Mountains.” Each tick is spaced about 1.25 seconds apart. But it’s not random. On Miller’s Planet, one hour equals roughly seven years back on Earth because of extreme gravitational time dilation near a black hole. That means every tick subtly represents about an entire day passing on Earth. While the characters fight massive waves and race against time, the soundtrack quietly reminds the audience that people back home are aging with every second. It’s one of the most brilliant examples of sound design and physics storytelling working together in film.
