@thepanteller: Jim Henson was a young man in his twenties when he first started experimenting with puppets on a small local television show in Washington D.C. Most people thought puppetry was just for kids. Henson refused to accept that limit. He saw something bigger — characters with real personality, real heart, real humor that could make a tired parent laugh just as hard as their child. Kermit the Frog was originally made from a ping pong ball cut in half and an old green coat that belonged to Henson's mother. That is not a legend. That is just the truth. From that scrap of cloth came one of the most recognised faces on earth. Henson poured everything into his work — not for fame, but because he genuinely believed that gentleness and imagination could shift the way people see the world. He died in 1990 at just 53 years old, far too soon, and the world felt it deeply. But the characters he built out of foam and kindness never left. Some people leave behind buildings or books. Jim Henson left behind joy, and somehow that has lasted even longer. Pass this one on — most people never knew just how humble those beginnings really were. #JimHenson #TheMuppets #FaithInHumanity #PuppetryHistory #ChildhoodMemories 💛 ~Pan Teller
