Dating is crazy expensive. Take someone out on 1-2 dates and decide it isn't going to work. Then meet someone else and repeat. Even at $100-$150 a date, that can easily be over $500 a month in dating. That's a lot of expendable income. It's way cheaper to stay single. And the only expectations I have is that there's good communication and enjoying time together.

Part 2 - if the man is tired of spending $200-$300 on first dates, then change it. Does he not set the time and place for the date? I have also never been on high priced date like that.

Yes, the upper class. I haven't either, nor did I ever want to be. Got me a simple and honest man who worked hard for his money. Lasted 45 years of marriage. Couldn't have been "happier". It's the little things in life that counts.

Maybe this is how it is where you live. Before I married, my husband we did not spend loads of money on dates. On a birthday or a one year anniversary we would have a fancy date. On our one year wedding anniversary, traditionally it’s paper. It’s ridiculous especially nowadays for constant wining & dining. You could get to know a person or if they’re going to be your person without having to throw a lot of money at them to be impressive.
