When a client sends you a file, do not open it directly on your PC. First, upload it to Google Drive and use the built-in preview to view it safely, this renders the file in a sandboxed environment. For stronger protection, install a sandbox tool like Windows Sandbox, or even better, always use a virtual machine (VM) for any untrusted files. Additionally, install and regularly update Malwarebytes as a secondary scanner. I personally never open unknown files directly on my host PC. I always use a sandbox or VM first.

This might be worth knowing… Just clicking a link/downloading a file cannot give any system access to your device and data. Unless you input your password or respond to input on their website or you download the file and clicked on it to open in the download folder… sorry bro
