2025 LEGO Technic Flagship landed 🔥 Volvo EC500 Hybrid Excavator – a set for Technic fans for bit more hours. Set #42215 releases August 1st, 2025, contains 2359 pieces, and retails for 429.99 USD / 399.99 EUR / 1749.99 PLN What I like: - Motorized gearbox with four functions - control the arm, and swap between hammer or bucket tools. Unique function of swapping equipment. - 3 XL linear actuators in black (for the first time) - they give strong lift power. - New triangle panels. Looks pretty useful and there is many of them in this set - New big bucket - Model building experience is really good! It’s quite easy to assemble, interesting to look how it works while building gearbox. What I don’t like: - We have become accustomed for many years to the fact that the flagship Technic models were the most advanced and most of them were remotely controlled. They had the most electrical and/or pneumatic components. The Volvo Excavator has only one electric motor, there is no remote control, it does not drive, does not rotate the superstructure electrically. Admittedly, we see that the price is lower compared to previous flagship models, but personally this is not what I expected from the main model of the Technic series this year. - I have the impression that the hammer function was added only to justify the function of electrically detaching bucket. Particularly unattractive is the fact that the operation of the hammer is also a manual function and we have to turn the knob on the hammer so that the axle jumps. In my opinion, the function would gain a lot if the drive to the hammer from an electric motor (just like to detach the bucket). - Electric functions controlling the arm and bucket are slow. There is a lot of space in the gearbox to replace some gears and speed up functions. Thank you LEGO for sending me this set for the review! #lego #technic #lego42215 #volvoec500 #legotechnic #legoreview #legobuild #afol #technicexcavator #reviews #rlfm
