I wanted to do an edit like that because I think so many people overlooked that part of the interview ! Assad Zaman really gets Armand and it’s tiring how Armand is essentialised to be « the evil guy » when he’s as complex and mean as other characters

That Armand doesn't see himself as evil doesn't mean he isn't. He's evil. And desesperate. And has so much trauma. And doesn't know and never knew and never will know how to deal with it. He suffers and he punishes however is closer to him for his own suffering. He is evil. He does bad things to people who don't deserve it. And he accepts the love he thinks he deserves, and he makes himself believe that he loves fully and that he's loved fully when he knows that isn't the truth. Lestat didn't love him, not like Armand wanted to be loved, with Louis is the same story, both of them searched for Lestat in each other. I love Armand so much. I love his character, I love that he doesn't think of himself as evil as he does so many vile things.
