Honestly. This is genius. And log how often they go to the bathroom and for how long so their mommas believe me. Let them get a notification each time they leave a teachers classroom during class.

Seating chart. Bell rings. Empty seat=absent. Press submit and walk away from attendance …5-15 seconds tops. HSSocStud teacher 20+ years. Late is student’s responsibility to let us know after school during their free time.

This one teacher at our school, had kids sign in at the door with a keypad hooked up to a Chromebook and every time they came in or out they had to sign in or out, and it created a Google sheet for him

I don’t see the point of attendance. Kids with 50+ absences graduating, kids skip my class and don’t get in trouble. I do attendance by patterns, no one notices if I do it right or wrong, but sometimes it’ll take 12 minutes to do attendance 😂

AND THEN IF STUDENTS CHECK IN 10 MINS LATE WITHOUT A PASS, FLAG FOR ADMIN. Student was in first period but not second? FLAG. Student has been absent for 3 consecutive classes? FLAG.

I scan IDs. It creates two lists for present and absent. Definitely a life saver when I didn’t know students

Love this! We have a system where I have to click on a website when they go to the bathroom AND when they come back. WHY?!?!? I’m teaching! They should be scanning themselves in and out.

I use a programmed spreadsheet and a cheap scanner for them to scan their school ID when they get to class and it shows a time stamp. We use an e-hall pass system with time stamps for all passes!

I get a special shout out once a week on the PA system at the end of the day. “Ms. Chambers please take attendance. If you see Ms. Chambers, please let her know” 😂😂😂😂 that’s how I know I’m loved ❤️
