One of the most important symbols of sport became the Ancient Olympic Games of Greece, held in honor of the gods of Olympus, especially Zeus. For the Greeks, competitions were not only a demonstration of strength and speed, but also a way to show the harmony of body, mind, and discipline. Victory was considered a manifestation of almost divine superiority over one’s own limits. Physical activity has always been deeply connected to human biology. Running, strength, agility, and endurance helped people hunt, survive dangers, and adapt to the environment. That is why movement still has such a powerful effect on the body and brain - training changes the cardiovascular system, muscles, metabolism, and even neural connections. But modern professional sports have long gone beyond natural physical activity. The human body was not designed for constant overload, injuries, joint degeneration, extreme diets, and years of stress in pursuit of records. Behind the beautiful footage there are often chronic pain, torn ligaments, heart problems, hormonal imbalances, and psychological pressure.
