by the end of the movie, even Grace understood her actions and had forgiven her (the message home to her indicates this). but personally I don't think she had a choice. they were out of options, and thay trolley was moving fast. so no. I don't see her as evil at all. just someone who was able to make the hard decisions when the world needed her to.

There’s something I adore in the fact that she’s a history major. She’s not a politician, she’s not even a scientist. She’s a historian. She knows what humans will do during this crisis. And she tries her damndest to save them all from the pain she can see coming
